I don't understand how one would make an argument that Madden has:
1. Become/Is more realistic than 2k5
2. Doesn't have computer cheats

OK...I agree to disagree that Madden has evolved. Let me preface this that I play both games in stages. I get sick of one then go back to the other. But, I can't seriously listen to you argue NZA and think that you can make claims again 2k5 as cheating when my 97 speed receiver or halfback...gets literally run down my a lineback or DL as I hit a corner. Or the games where my players develop the "-itis" In which I have 4-6 team fumbles. Does it happen in real life? Sure. As much as on Madden? No.

AI being deep? Come on man. my girlfriend knows that a play action pass on first down is money on this game.

I'm not hating on you cause you like Madden (but I am being a ***** i admit it) I'm just saying. This is some crazy rationale here to think that Madden is much more advanced than it is.

I mean....I WANT TO CONTROL MY RECEIVERS WHEN THEY CATCH THE BALL! What I have to not control certain people cause if I do something crazy like FS blitz directly behind a DL I get an automatic sack, so i should never control the FS again? I mean what is that? Madden is a good game but please spare me already with how advanced it is. The game still has speed-up, turnover cheats LIKE 2K5 does.

DOn't get me wrong. Everytime my franchise freezes a little part of me dies (you hear me VC!!!!! It dies) but lets be real. 2k5 is a little better in aAI (cept for them db's...its like the ball is kryptonite sometimes and Mike Vick doesn't throw the ball 30+ times a game either)

My point is both games have flaws but stop wasting letters with these straight up stories.

I just wanted to know if they're making a 2k7? Anyone? Fake Football League 2k7? I'll buy it. Tired of nolt bieng able to run a screen.

I as I said, until you've played Madden on a high end PC with the sliders I have, you won't understand where i'm coming from. I've played Madden Xbox and it is waaaay behind as far as i'm concerned. Game speed is slow, and the CPU are easier to beat by far. Madden PC is a different game.

I'm out to get the best balanced gameplay I can. I don't mind imposing restrictions like these because i'm not out to see how good I can jocky the left thumbstick. For instance, sometimes I play in Coach mode. Also, you may have misread what I meant about defensive switching - I said once you've chosen the guy you're going to use presnap on D, don't switch during the play, because a human controlled player in Madden (and 2K5) has your awareness, not the player's, and if you start switching to the nearest defender mid flight, you're going to create inbalance. 2K5 doesn't have "awareness" per se, but the same principle remains.

I never said Madden was more realistic, it just is for what I want. I get the stats I expect, I finish the seasons with records I expect. I get defensive games where no team scores over 10 points, as I said I have many gamelogs to prove it. I get the 45-40 games where I expect to. When I verse Manning, he has 340y, 4TD, 70% games in Madden. I've never, ever seen any CPU QB do that to me in 2K5. When I was the Texans in Madden just recently he torched me for 466 yards and 5 TDs, but as the Jags he is lucky to get 200 on me.

As far as I see it, there are two parts to a football game - the realtime action, and the end results (stats, scores etc). ESPN gets the former right the most, Madden gets the latter right the most. I'm just a guy that likes the end results to be more realistic. Of course, gameplay matters and while 2K5 has superior gameplay in many regards, I don't consider it superior enough to overrule my wants, because it is far from perfect itself. I love it as a 2 player game but I want be as immersed as I can into the real NFL, and I'm sorry, but I can't with the CPU AI 2K5 delivers. 2K4's was far better.

As I said, i've tried both and that's my conclusion - i'm kinda tired of people who have played very little Madden on the console let alone the PC telling me my POV is nonsense. And if you do, let me hook you up with my PC sliders and get back to me, but i'm guessing that won't be the case.

And NZA i'm not gonna henpeck you. I didn't say your view was nonsense (if i alluded to it I apologize). I just disagreed on your initial generalizations. If you feel that Madden accomplishes your goals I totally respect that man. I mean in the end these games are about which satisfies you more. All i'm saying with the sliders I'm sure the argument can be made for realistic sliders in 2k5 (and I read tons of posts here stating that). I don't comment often in here just because I see this battle over Madden and 2k5. both are exceptional to me in different ways. Your view explanation in the end made alot more sense to me is all. I can see your frustration in what type of product you want. It just kills me when people argue in absolutes.

ps. to be on topic...madden 360 was disappointing, now why'd they have to remove all the features again? Also, nba 2k6, its almost too real looking. They look scarily real..especially without facial expressions. But i love that game. And no i don't have a 360 but i got a restraining order against me at the best buy 360 stand....jk

Depends who I play. Jags ran 31 times and passed 24 times. Manning threw 40+ and ran about 10, but that's because I lead for the most part and they were playing catchup. I'm the 2-7 Texans in year 2 and somehow beat the Colts convincingly when Manning threw over 400 yards and 3 TD's, don't ask how, heh.

When I was the Broncos I was in the top 5 for pass and rush D. However, you will likely still find a hint of what you mentioned, but i've experienced this with just about every football game i've played. It's a lot easier to stop the run than the pass as a human playing a football game, so it is only natural for coders to make the CPU rely on the pass unless the run is working. When the run stops working in Madden, the CPU abandon it. With that said though, I feel for my skill level the CPU run fine, but there is plenty of room to improve their running sliders.

EDIT: I dunno what it is about the Jags, but they always make a great game. They beat me 17-15 as the Texans. I held Lefty to 113 yards on 22 attempts, and their rushing managed 46 yards on 24 carries. For some reason I can't get this type of balance on the console, but the PC, no worries. Maybe it's because the PC version's sliders each have 99 settings, and the console's only 20.
