That, and it is COMPLETELY editable. Even with the great gameplay, they wouldn't have as much of a following if the game weren't so damn moddable. That was one of the draws for me, and many that follow the game overseas....

Just curious as to what hardcore company published facts you have that a Legends game is in the works? All indications I've seen are that there isn't. Oh, I've heard rumor and "I saw a football icon in the latest commercial", or IGN posts a blurb about "they are not done yet", or something like that, but I have never seen any official communication from anyone associated with the game developer.

Don't get me wrong...I am a Legends, or historic team junkie. In fact, those teams are all I play the game with. I have spent hundreds of hours editing historic rosters and making them as realistic as possible. I would want nothing more than a new historic team based game to be produced. But...again...I don't think it is happening, and there sure aren't any press releases from someone who mattered to say that it is.

I think it would be good to offer a completly different experience where the players are interactive away from the field. Like pre paring for the season, you run hills, swimming...etc weight training, agility ladder..etc. Different minigames to offer a more complete experience so that when you get to the field you have a greater sense of accomplishment for what your player can do... Just a thought!

Well, rumor and speculation are leaning towards it. I mean, just by that blurb that was posted.

I just find it amazing that some people are so hardcore that they are already pooing the idea down because it's not NFL football (not you capa). I'd rather play with legends or generic rosters then have to suffer through Madden anymore. We all know Madden sucks, we all know that EA makes 3rd rate games. I just want to play a football game that was made well again. If that means it's fake teams that we edit ..fine.

I proposed the fantasy football angle as a hook, that got mocked by some because "its not JUST LIKE 2K5!!!". What a joke..It probably never will be thanks to the No Fun League, so you have to make do.

I like soccer games too, I will always buy winning eleven over FIFA because it's one of the best games released for Xbox..plain and simple..so is 2K5.

Legends is just a very nice hook that would be fun..maybe the legends will be coaches..maybe they will be edited out when people mod the hell out of it...I don't care, I just want to play 2K again so I can enjoy a football game.

Don't generalize. MVP Baseball and NCAA Football are extremely fun. The only two EA games that I'll still play...

I agree with all you said except for the part about EA making 3rd rate games. MVP is the best baseball game made in years on all platforms. They make some great war games and other sport titles like boxing, etc as well. But overall, they have a very "corporate" reputation for pushing out "sports" sludge and forcing it down people's throats.

When I look around my room here, I do see a bunch of EA titles so they get my dollar. Except for football. I jumped off the Madden bandwagon about 2 years ago.

Got fingers crossed for another NFL2K title, but don't think it is in the cards...regardless of rumors and "hints".

Good points. EA makes plenty of quality titles - MVP Baseball and NCAA Football especially stand out. Their "reputation", as you described it, is what puts off a lot of people...
