Can you create a player and then put him in a draft for franchise mode?

If I start a franchise and use the colts for my team how do I change there playbook so I can use the vikings playbook always?

Q1: No, but you can edit players in the draft, so that's maybe an option.
Q2: You can select the Vikes playbook every game, but you can't make it your team's default book.

Try creating a custom playbook. When it asks for new or team, select team and pick the Vikes and save the playbook.

I'm on PS2 so I'm not sure what the button is on xbox, but, once you get ready to play your selected game during franchise, at the team selection menu, hit the button that brings up the quarter length, home and away playbooks, etc. (Its "O" on the PS2)...Find your team and scroll down the playbooks til you find your custom playbook. Should be the one right before the 49ers book if you scroll backwards, ie. right after the Vikings. Exit out and start your game and you should have your custom playbook.

Just be aware that making a custom playbook does not mean it'll become your team's default book. You'll still have to manually choose it before every game, plus load it as well.
