Will sideline view ever be used again? (TV cam or Tecmo Bowl View)

Hey kinda...I learn the routes, and then look at the Defense, You can get a feel of where the coverage is going from the movement of the D initially, then I got to who I think is open.

I could just dominate the CPU if I play verticle, so this adds a little more to the game for me. Plus, I love playing like it looks like on the TV, you know...real NFL. I can't stand playing verticle...its like not really football.

I'm of the opinion that TV broadcasts should adopt the behind the QB camera, not the other way around. Especially on widescreen TV's, it doesnt get better than that because you can see the whole field. Its perfect really, I don't see what you guys are talking about. Side view is NOT good for football games lol.

Here's what they should do. They should go to that view for replays and pre and post play when the team breaks the huddle and directly after the play.

This will give you the illusion that you are watching a lot of the game from that angle, with out actually having you play at that angle.

2K is good at cutting and transitioning from the action to the replays etc, and I though if it could be done, they would be the one to do it.

I love the side view, but it's terrible to actually play for. What they could do it put little picture-in-picture type screens to actually show you the deep receivers, so you could actually see the coverage. That might work.

This was more along the lines of an idea I had a few years ago.

What would happen is you develop your game using the normal, traditionally used down-the-field camera angles.

However, if you do decide to use the sideline view, the right side of the screen would have PIP shots of your downfield receivers, each with a yardage underneath to indicate where they are on the field. You can even outline the box with a Red-Green-Blue indicator to measure their degree of "open-ness."

After a botched play, you would see the screen cut to the defender who was open and show them signaling for the ball, then throwing their hands in disdain or disgust when they don't get it... all with smooth transitions. If I could make this vision of mine a reality, I guarantee it would be a treat for sideline view football gamers.
