First Person Football

This seems like a tacky and unnecessary feature to me. If this were added to Madden, people would gripe about the time being spent on implementing it, instead of improving gameplay.

Unless they intend to build the entire game around first person football, it will aways seem gimmicky and unnecessary to me.

I definitely agree w/you and your point about people's expectations - which are gonna spiral out of control, which makes one wonder why they chose now to make the announcement... but that's something else to speculate about.

I was just saying that for me, if they made a few tweaks to it, it'd be a feature I'd play with

If they add FP, then great, but if they do it at the expense of taking out other things, then hell no. I would even say just get the first installment out first, with great gameplay, and then worry about things like FPF in future releases.

FPF, when playing as a running back or a kick returner, was nothing short of incredible. Man coverage was fun too.

That said, I never played FPF more than a couple of times, cuz playing quarterback was very difficult (no peripheral vision = can't see pressure), and for me passing was nearly impossible.

If they can improve FPF, I'd like to see it come back, and even have it implemented into a 24/7-esque mode where you play all the plays as one particular player.

All that said, I would rather 2K get the main game down pat before diving into improving the first-person experience.

I voted no, for the reasons others have already stated-the development time required would be better spent making sure the core gameplay is as tight as possible. Leave it until next year.
