Is it possible to use the NFL rosters?

How will the roster possibly work in your opinion? Including the teams?

Will they use actual NFL teams and players and just change their names up along with the logos? This is just based on opinions and not if you've heard visual concepts confirm that.

Also if they do end up using the NFL teams with players by changing the names and logos, how will the presentation department work, the commentary? I mean that seems impossible. For example if you are using the Colts and the name of their QB is Mayton Manning, the commentator is probably not going to say Payton Manning, rather he will say Mayton Manning.

I just don't see how they can incorporate the actual NFL teams and players somehow in the game along with the commentating presentation department.

No current players will be in the game. The NFLPA has an exclusive deal with EA as well as the NFL. as far as comentary they can add names to a data base that matches the spellings of random american names just as NCAA games havs done for years.

But you guys see my point right? I know that EA has the exclusive with the NFL, but there are some very minor ways around that as well.

Some people are claiming that 2k will use weird names for teams and players to match the NFL teams and players such as Atlanta Flyhawks and Michael Flick, and claiming that we'd just have to change the numbers and names of the player.

I just don't see how they can do it especially with how the commentating would work, they just cannot incorporate the two together even if they go ahead and save every NFL players name with a voice in the create a player feature.

The commentator would have to say, "Yea John Michael Flick is a great runner with the ball but he isn't know to be one of the top passers which is really a weakness considering he's a QB"

That just sounds like too much work to get every superstar from NFL especially into commentating.

one thing is you cant listen to every speculation you read. if they use randome names it will be nothing close to a recognizable NFL personality. your QB would be "Jack Boyd". either that or retired players. if you were to edit your rosters the last name "Manning" would probaly be in the voice data base. the name "Peyton" probably would be as well.

I'd be willing to bet that even some of the more uncommon names could be included in the voice recognition file. For example, NCAA includes names like "Samardzija" and "Zbikowski". Is it really that much more of a stretch to include something like "Polamalu" in APF2k8?
