I do have a few questions for you though regarding the depth chart addition -

1) Will we be able to change a team's defensive setup from 4-3 to 3-4 or vice versa?

2) Will the kick and punt returners actually stay the way we set it up to be or will the CPU automatically edit it all in week 2 of franchise mode?

Thanks.
You can change the setup to a 3-4 but it doesn't change the playbook. In game, the depth chart will show 3-4 defense. However, if the original teams playbook was a 4-3, it will still run a 4-3 against you.

Not sure about 2. The only time I have seen the CPU change the PR/KR is when massive global player rating edits are done on a file. Evidently, the attributes you roster guys are changing (for QBs for example) are used in the game's calculation of who would make a good kick returner. Hopefully, being able to set them in editor will cause them to stick but I can't say for sure. You may have to reset before every week in the editor.

Could this potentially be used to have players play two positions, Finn? For example, rookies Brandon Meriweather (NE) and Michael Griffin (TEN) are expected to play both the CB and safety position this year... I know that Meriweather is currently the second string safety but his primary position for the time being is a nickel CB.

I don't think so... the game uses the players assigned position in the depth chart stuff. So a player who is a CB is only available to play CB unless you use formation specific substitutions.

Ah ha. That's what I thought. I was just wishful thinking/hoping.

Thinking about resetting depth charts gave me this brainstorm:

Not sure if this would even be possible or-- if so-- how hard it would be to develop... might it be feasible for us to somehow save our depth charts for quickload in the editor both to reset them at anytime or quickly change them to an alternative lineup?

maybe even have multiple lineups saved, so we could have one "real life" lineup accounting for injuries but also be able to 'quickload' a "best lineup" from the editor where players on IR would still be starting

i'm dreaming that it could be like the position filters we currently save; a tiny file on the computer
