I think you're missing the point, bud. They still make new versions of NBA2K.

The reason the editor was created was to edit games (i.e. NFL2K5, NHL 2K5) that don't have newer versions coming out. That way, you can play an updated version of an old, discontinued favorite game.

If you want to edit 2K7, just buy 2K8 and it's done for you.

So what your saying is that the only possible reason for wanting a roster editor would be to update or make current rosters for old games. Don't you think that is a bit shortsighted. I mean, why would Finn have bothered to create these in the first place if that were the case. Other than NFL 2k5, there would be newer versions of both NBA 2K and NHL 2k, as well as online updates for the current games at the time the editors were created. I think you are confused as to who is missing the point. People like to edit rosters for a variety of reasons besides just to update. Finn's editors opened up areas for edits that were otherwise restricted. I wish something like that was available for the new consoles.

Good point. In terms of making editors for the new consoles, I believe it just isn't possible. If a next-gen file gets edited on a PC it becomes invalid and I don't think anyone has found a way around that problem yet. At least that's my understanding of why we haven't seen newer editors from Finn or anyone for that matter. With that said, I don't think we'll see an NBA 2k7 editor for Xbox anytime soon. I know Finn worked on an NBA 2k6 editor though, if you're interested...

Well, this would be primarily for Finn to answer, but I don't think you're necessarily on the right line of thinking here, Sully3.

Finn also made a 2K3 editor back when that version came out knowing that it wasn't anywhere near the end of the series. It was/is a tremendous editor because not only could you manipulate attributes, you could do trades and line changes! We all know that newer doesn't necessarily mean better (*cough* nhl2k4 *cough*). Additionally, if he means 2K7 for XBox1, then that was the last version for that system.

All of a sudden, I'm strangely drawn to popping in NHL 2K3 for some good AI plaly for a change....noooooooooooooo!
