Is it possible to load rosters on ps3 without the chip and roster convertor?

PS2 games can be played on certain PS3's, yes. However, you will find very little support for the PS2 version here...you cannot make as many updates to the rosters, etc. as you can with the Xbox version due to the limitation of the PS2. They do not allow as many names to be saved, etc. so it pretty much makes updating rosters irrelevant. I am not saying you won't find an updated PS2 roster around, but it probably won't be very "accurate".

If you really love this game, it has to be played on the first gen Xbox, or perhaps the 360 now as soon as people figure out how to save updated rosters through the use of Xport, Xsata, etc...

Best bet - find yourself a first gen Xbox and ActionReplay card and you'll have many more files to select from here on the board.

Ok thanks, I found a ps2 roster but it just doesnt work on my ps3

the roster has to go from your pc to your ps2 memory card via the datel ps2
software (PC disc). secondly, it has to be uncrushed from your memory card via the ps2 using the datel software for ps2 disc. after that, you have to transfer it to your ps3 using a ps2 to ps3 usb to memory card adapter, (they can be found at most electronics/gaming stores for $15 or less). then you can save the roster to your ps3 using the ps3's ps2 memory card utility in the XMB. after that you can use those rosters in game.
