INT percent in NFL
Interesting to note that the actual INT % in 2007 in the NFL averaged approx 3%. There were 401 INTs thrown out of a total of 13,215 attempts (and no, not all those attempts were NE).
This means that in each game if each team has 40 attempts per game, the average number of INTs were 1.2 per team, or a total of 2.4. Obviously, if the number of attempts per game rises, so will your total INTs. I used 40 because it seemed like a reasonable number of passes based on a total of approx 60-65 plays per team.
So, if when you are playing/simming, your QBs are throwing anywhere from 1-2 picks a game in a 40 attempt game, you are right on it. If they are throwing 2-4 on a consistent basis (per each QB), the QB ratings may need to be adjusted...depending on who the QB is
You can do the math based on your average number of attempts per game.
