49ers / Texans FB Moran Norris PBP help

Hey everyone, while updating VC's final roster from 2004, I have been testing out every player's PBP on a position by position basis. Anyway, I tested out Norris and when the commentators say his full name, it sounds like Morgan Norris.

It would be greatly appreciated if someone could test this out for me to verify what the commentators call Norris.

Thanks.

since i know this kind of thing bugs you (Tank/Von Johnson/Hutchins instead of Terry & Tahaya)...

you might wanna know that the PBP entry for Ike Taylor says his full first name "Ivan." This despite the player being named "Ike" in the default roster.

Terry Johnson and Tahaya Hutchins being called Tank and Von respectively didnt bother me because I know that's what people refer to them as in reality. I simply edited their names in the PBP/Photo index files and problem solved.

I'm only up to WR's but I'll keep the "Ivan" commentary in mind when I get to CB's. When you get a chance, can you test out Norris because as of right now, im only using the last name "Norris" for him that appears after his name.

Thanks.

P.S. - I'm using the default index files from version .30 because I didnt want to go through all the extra names that Slapnutz found over the last few months. I have a copy of the notepad in my documents section and I eliminate every player after I check them. This way, when im finally done, I'll just have to verify the remaining players who are in the files but arent in the final roster update. Also, when I finish my 2K5 roster, I'll be posting a position by position PBP update. Here's an example for the 2004 quarterbacks -

Jersey Number Player / Years Pro (Rating) skin tone - *PBP* / Hand

49ers / 3
13 Tim Rattay / 5 (75) w - yes / R
07 Ken Dorsey / 2 (60) w - yes / R
03 Cody Pickett / R (52) w - yes / R

Bears / 4
08 Rex Grossman / 2 (75) w - yes / R
09 Chad Hutchinson / 3 (70) w - yes / R
16 Craig Krenzel / R (62) w - yes / R
12 Jonathan Quinn / 7 (55) w - yes / R

Bengals / 3
09 Carson Palmer / 2 (85) w - yes / R
03 Jon Kitna / 8 (80) w - yes / R
04 Casey Bramlet / R (52) w - jersey number / R

^dan... do you know you can extract & sort this information in the editor or in excel instantly w/o having to write out anything by hand or look at anything manually? everything except the OVR rating can be exported & manipulated from the editor's data tools

Damn it. Oh well. Thanks for verifying what the commentators refer to him as. At least I can use just "Norris".

P.S. - Did you ever look over those other UNK's in the hope of finding "doubles" for Crayton, Jason David, etc.?

I dont have Microsoft Office / Excel. I use wordpad documents for the team and player info. The majority of the info I have has already been typed out in those documents. For each position, I simply copy and paste each position from the team wordpad to the position wordpad.

I'm still using the older editor because it had the default index files. I didnt want to use the files with the extra names in it because that would just give me more names to verify despite them already being verified by slapnutz and others.

Thanks for the help though.

Re: 49ers / Texans FB Moran Norris PBP help

you actually dont even need excel... it's all visible in the player grid (PBP, even last name only). im sure you dont care at this point, but that is hours of unecessary work; both typing all that out & then moving it around w/ copy & paste later.

people can just open your roster in the editor & see it all
