what are my DB's doing?

i notice this all the time now.....but a pass is thrown and my DB will turn himself around so his back is to the WR......its like he is in position and then makes a circle and takes himself out of position......

Re: what are my DB's doing?

its hard to describe.....but they are facing the WR, then the pass is thrown and they make a circle by basically doing a 180, and now they have their back to the offense, but then start back pedaling towards the WR like they are trying to make the play......

just browsing around the forum it seems to be assoiciated with the aggression.....so i assume you guys have already known about this??

any fix for this?

Re: what are my DB's doing?

I personally lower all CBs and Ss aggression to a lower number....ZERO lol. I havent had a problem since.

Re: what are my DB's doing?

Well, atleast I am not the only one who had this problem. I noticed this in my last 2 games playing with the 49ers in my franchise. On a double coverage play, my DB was covering the WR fine, but as soon as the pass was halfway to the WR he decided to take a 180 circle out of the clear blue and leave the reciever wide open to convert the 3rd down. Your not alone Maynard.

Re: what are my DB's doing?

The 2 animations that kill me are the over-excessive backpeddaling and the poorly timed slow down after the DB has been staying step for step with the receiver.

Re: what are my DB's doing?

Indeed, the DB play NFL 2K5 is horrendous and exasperating at times. HOWEVER, the DB issues can be thoroughly solved thanks to finn's editor. Back in the day, a guy by the name of NickChew created amazing nfl 2k5 rosters for the 2006 season - in my opinion, they're still the best rosters to date. From a gameplay stance, they are absolutely flawless. NickChew implemented a plethora of edits to DB aggression, LB's and more. You MUST check these out just for the experience, even though they are quite dated (07 season). The sliders are below with ranges that represented what the football mind of NickChew himself viewed as simulation football. Once Puja's 08-09 roster is released, I may create a roster with NickChew's edits. Maybe.......

Try em' out! ***Also, the QB play is MUCH improved.***

Re: what are my DB's doing?

Thanks Socal. I'm willing to try anything to make for better gameplay.
Just so I get this straight- the numbers in () represent how many "ticks" each slider moves from the left, correct?
