I went ahead and picked the game up since it was only 99 cents, but I haven't really messed around with it yet. I messed around a little in practice mode, and I could already tell I'm probably gonna have to play with some house rules (which I hate doing) if I do decide to get back into this game. I just wish they would have had at least one more year to iron out some of the bugs and AI issues. As realistic as the 2k engine is, it lacks polish big time against the CPU.

Just download some custom rosters/franchise files. Use the sliders that come with the franchises, or make your own. There ya go. No house rules required. Maybe just with running with the QB if you're that kind of guy. If you're a real trooper, get jsou's files. His settings are pretty stiff. I couldn't do anything. I wasn't even able to run with the QB much less get a pass off before getting a big DE to the face.

I am with the OP. I have been trying to get into Madden, but now since I can use the newer and classic rosters for the PS3 thanks to a lot of dedicated people on this forum, I am going to take Madden and NCAA back, because this game is so much better on all fronts imo.

After all the BS this year with Madden 09 I'm going to give 2k5 another shot. It would be ironic if a 89 cent game was a better football sim than a $60 game. O-well.

For some reason I trust that Ian will fix this next year and Madden will be back on top.

ok now I just need to find out how to update rosters.
