but yeah, when you hold on to Y, do it right before the defender hits you, don't let go, just hold on, unless there's another right after him. I also penetrate the line by holding Y and alot of times, my RB usually trucks the tackle my OL is trying to block and more.
I just posted this somewhere else, but I've been tweaking the sliders up from Legend. I put the Human Blocking at just about 1/2 way. Cuts way down on the plays for a loss against weaker defenses. And when you run a draw up the middle against a D that's aligned at the edges, you FINALLY get some respectable yardage. And LJ can finally break off some decent long runs. I could never get more than 10 yards at the most even with the default rosters OL of Legend.

But the success on dives could be your G's RUN rating or the type of back your using. How fast is he? LJ has a 90 in speed. So, he hits the corner pretty well.

Here's one more:

On punt returns, if you have a few blockers in front of you, then be the slightest bit patient and let them set up the blocks before you run ballzout. And be sure to you the left analog stick to juke and jive your way around. But not too much. That'll get you tackled.

Hmmmm...thanks! sI've been having trouble with the returns. I would tap speed and before I get hit, I would do a spin but I never break for a td.

Re: NFL 2k tips

I've never tried holding Y down for long periods of time. I've held it down right before a defender was about to tackle the runner and it's worked. Does holding it down while running do any better? I would think it limit speed and mobility. Or, do you just mean hold it down when the defender is near?

Another general running tip, don't sprint through the hole. Get through, then sprint or use your charge. I've found that if you sprint through the hole, you're more likely to run into a blocker and defender and be tackled.

Re: NFL 2k tips

To Add to that run tip:

Patience. Let the blockers set up. Don't outrun them.

If they cut back, you might ought to too. Unless there's nothing but daylight to the outside. Then tap A as fast as you can and hit the hash marks and straighten out.

If there's a defender in pursuit of you FLATTEN OUT your running. Run straight at the side line and try to get a step on him before you turn sharply up the sideline.

Patience, but don't fall asleep. Sometimes your blocking will suck. But sometimes you'll spring through the hole for a huge gain. Or tweak the HUMAN BLOCKING slider till you're happy.
