I'll give the nod to 2K8,it is a bit more refined than 2k5.It is still very similar,though.There are a lot more animations,and that adds to the overall feel.

If we're comparing defaults, 2k8, definitely. Quarterbacks make MUCH better decisions on where to throw the football (less throws into triple coverage), CPU teams can actually run an offense on All-Pro default, and the special abilities spell out clearly what each player is capable of.
