College football alternative

i see alot of problems with EA's new college football too so here's a suggestion

i play "EA ncaa 2001" haha...a game that is that old still beats out the new EA college football.anyway the graphics r'nt the best, but the gameplay is great...the rhythm of the game and just the overall feel is good... u get into some battles, realistic scoring. not 3-0, or 7-3 games like on the new one. i was michigan st. ranked 21 and played michigan ranked 2. it was at michigan st. and i beat them 24-13, as i was running the clock down the crowd began chanting..."over rated, over rated" haha.it was a a nerve racking game too bcuz the winner of it was goin to the rose bowl so before the game i didn't play for like 2 days bcuz i was nervous over it haha.how good is that?anyway i went to the rose bowl and on a late day game with the sky turning red and purple towards the end of the game i lost too usc 31-7...yeah i was over matched lol. their wideout ripped my corner up for 189 yards and 2 td's then i was so focused on him they started running the ball and i got whooped lol...but it goes to show that at one time EA did make good games, so if ur looking for college football this is a good game.play it on varsity and u'll have fun.

i play that game still lol

we typed in all the names for over 100 teams (this was way back before anyone was posting NCAA rosters online-- pre-Fairdale Kings etc)

i also updated a lot of teams... like several big schools had a different starting QB by midseason compared to the game's default roster; eg Notre Dame dropped Matt LoVecchio in favor of Carlyle Holiday.

yeah that game is solid....well the cpu running could be a bit more challenging, but every once and a while u run into a beast.anyway the one thing i am constantly amazed by is the rhythm of the game...like when u go on a time consuming drive and ur guys walk up to the line of scrimmage all big and confident lol. it's just nice and then the hurry up...unlike the newer ncaa where it takes like 20 seconds to snap the ball. u can rush to the line and quick snap it.it feels like anything can happen also..like u can have a horrible team and most of the time u get hammered, but u can also pull the big upset, vice versa u can have a great team and be upset..good example...playing with ole miss and i was 10-0 last game against miss st. in a defensive battle (i had a very explosive offense) miss st. was like 3-7 playing at home in the mud and they geared up to stop my passing...the final was 13-3...i was heartbroken lol...i mean there's feeling to the game...U LOSE URSELF IN THE GAME!!! like i mentioned before i actually got nervous for that rose bowl game haha...i remember another i was in a close game and i had to kick a last second field goal to win and got so freaked out i totally shanked it. my hear was pounding haha. play the new madden or ncaa and u know u'll make the kick no matter what there's no drama. EA needs to stop worrying about graphics (with theses new systems they'll take care of themselves) and get back to game play not worrying about animations of the crowd cheering or f***in td celebrations.sorry to ramble, but i want good games like ncaa 2001 and nfl2k5

thats what I thought you meant, I played that game a ton too. That was the first game I played on the new engine, ps2 or xbox 1 and I was blown away.
