Need advice on 360 version

Hi all-

I am thinking of picking up a 360 this Xmas. I have played this game on and off in the past on PS2. My question is does this game stay challenging over several years of franchise mode? The problem I always ran into in the past was that I could figure out the weaknesses of different slider sets and exploit them to no end. And usually, it would take only one or two seasons before I felt I could dominate almost every game. And also, how is the online experience, if it exists?
