I wasn't planning on jumping in on this (as I honestly don't feel invested one way or another
) but I only agree in part on what was said here in the quotes.
No, you should NEVER be personally attacked and mistreated for any reason...it's a very fair point. However, it doesn't take from your own responsibility when you post. To focus on other people's wrong doings when discussing the issue, takes from the fact that it was all brought about from your own irresposible posting. Also, the mods
have started getting involved, which is a sign that you're pushing it as far as TOS are concerned as well.
While the reactions are over the top and unwarranted in their extremity at times, they are brought on by what seems to be a need to overstate positions, reach for acceptance, and call attention to yourself. Also, the lying, childish "rick rolls", and porn links do you no favors (with acceptance
or your membership
).
Yes, it is wrong to react the way some have, but you're own responsibility in this needs to be addressed. You spend your time in the Madden forums providing nothing but snarky "2K for life" commentary, which only serves to alienate most on that end.
You then come here and spout out the same propoganda, make false promises, and then wonder why people don't respond well. Most of us have moved on. We don't care to discuss Madden (and I can assure you, those in the Madden forum don't care to discuss "2K for life"...lol), the exclusive license, or how much money we can pay for our own copy of the game
. It all just screams of immaturity.
For my part, I'm not sure your as bad as some think (and clearly, I'm not the only one...the responses here have mostly been quite fair IMO). I think you are just trying way too hard to impress. This usually backfires and leads to the opposite of the desired results. People don't relate well to a "phony".
If you really seek acceptance (and it's never gauranteed to anyone) just focus on the content that you feel contributes. Your coordinator ideas, your own roster projects, general ideas, etc.
You don't have to be a roser guru, slider expert, or maker of an editor to contribute or discuss. I, myself, bring nothing to the table other than my own interest in the game and desire to to help out in the rare instances I can (and boy, do I mean rare...lol
). I get along just fine.
Anyway, most reasonable people aren't going to "hate" you because of any of this. I think, in general, it's more frustration and apathy at this point. Try to relax, abide by the TOS, and focus on what your typing rather than what reaction you hope to gain from it
.
Take care.
