Re: Greats League - 2009 Season

Yeah, Lombardi was surprised, and not happy, for sure...see In the News section...but pretty much as expected. The '69 Chiefs had a great passing offense which is why they were successful. Most of the older teams could never establish real ground games which forced them into passing situations and constant come from behind scenarios. The linemen size and speed seemed to be critical.

I'll measure the Chiefs against the What If scenario as well...

Great work Capa, I see my Raiders finished 8-8, not bad I guess. I still think the 76-77 Raiders team would have done a little better.

Re: Greats League - 2009 Season

Daflyboys,

Well, your '69 Chiefs held on for a 14-11 win over the '00 Ravens. Here are the stats (both teams were cpu):

Dawson: 13-23, 133 yds, 2 TDS. 0 Int
Dilfer: 13-28, 172 yds, 0 TDs, 1 Int

Lewis: 20-105, 1 TD 5.3 avg
Garrett: 19-45, 0 TD, 2.4 avg

Arbanas: 4-44 Yds
Richardson, 4-45 Yds, 2 TDs
Sharpe: 4-59 Yds
Taylor: 3-34 Yds

Stover: 1-3 (26 Yd FG)

Dawson was missing long in 1Q and they could not mount a run game. It was fun to watch as the CPU started going short. The 2 TD passes were within the 20 yd line. Defensive battle for the most part, but Dilfer stunk up the joint. Lewis is a beast...ran over guys right and left...but the Chiefs safeties played the run well and did not let him break one really.

capa,
this is awesome....sort of like a "what if" scenario such as they play out on ESPN or something. i see the 90 bills did pretty well. wouldn't that be something if the bills (who did not win a super bowl) win it all?
