Leaning on the Fence
Legit or not, I am not sure what to make of a working relationship between "EA Madden" and Visual Concepts.

The Good.
Visual Concept's track record has bred fantastic sports titles including the highly acclaimed NFL 2k5. "EA Madden" gets a drastic key boost in game play along with overall presentation. Madden series make strides, and excels. "EA Madden" puts out a game that plays as good as it looks (still shots). EA Sports regain fans.

The Bad.
NFL exclusivity remains intact (because Madden series make strides, and excels.)

Hopeful
The working relationship allows 2k Sports to re-enter the playing field. EA Sports realizes that so long as they release sports title that mimic true simulation, while adding features that enhances overall game play and experience, and cater to what the fan wants, they will be successful.

EA Sports retracts exclusive NFL licensing, allowing competitors to mark their territory in the NFL football market once again.

The NFL realizes that sports is all about competition and exclusive licensing kills the basis of sports, and that is "competition."

The National Football League (NFL) offers multiple licenses to various companies including the obvious 2k Sports. Other professional leagues follow suit. 2kSports releases NFL 2012. Natural Motion's Backbreaker receives NFL licensing upgrades. 2k Sport drops the 3rd party exclusive MLB license; EA Sports puts out MVP 2012.

Multiple versions of successful sport titles entertain fans year after year.

anything is possible, i guess....weird if it's this guy that breaks this kinda news. anyways, this would be as big as getting the NFL license....if it's true.

Visual Concepts is under the 2K sports brand which is owned by Take Two Interactive so the chances of seeing VC develop or help with the development of Madden is as good as me getting Jessica Alba.
