Defensive Backs?

Has anyone noticed there dbs not running full speed? Even if I put stamina up they still dont seem to be getting in gear, im wondering if this is programming but idk why they would do something like this...

Ok for instance on the original roster roy williams of the dallas cowboys could hawk ANY player down and he wasnt even the fastest player on the field. But Terrance Newman gets burnt, these are on all pro settings and even still when you change up pursuit and stamina on the sliders.

Basically im mad because everyone seems to run there true speed except the db's when user controlled...the cpu runs fast but they always dive prematurly...why is this and dont tell me to tap faster because thats not the case.
