That's what I've been saying all the time. Backbreaker did just that (kinda) but player pads, helmets and so on does not look like the real things in backbreaker. Why not just make pads look like real ones, backbreaker has like sixpack pattern in pads. Also you can't remove visors, and everyone looks the same. All you need is fully customizable game with 2k gameplay if they can't get license

I think every single item officially branded by the NFL is on an exclusive license for sponsors and official products, for example hats, jerseys, "offical cell phone providers(just recently switched from sprint to verizon), things like that...why would they change that for video games? i am pretty sure it is the NFL's policy to have these exclusive contracts, and i dont see EA getting outbid...

i just wish the PS3 still had backward compatibility because I have never played 2k5 and I want to make it my "franchise" NFL game since i cant stand Maddens franchise mode anymore

EA renewed the license in 2008, two years before the NFL license expired. Also the NCAA expires after this year and still nothing about renewal from EA. Its quite possible EA will not renew because they have lost revenue since the exclusive license began. The people are not buying the game like EA thought when they got it. If EA doesnt renew by next year sometimes, i think it might be over ladies and gents. Let pray they dont and other developers can get back in the game of making NFL games.

It's interesting that we haven't heard anything about a renewal of the NCAA license by EA. I wonder if they are maybe waiting to see if 2k show an interest before announcing it?
