Re: No in-game saves for ESPN football?!?!?

I understand why some of the younger (or maybe even just single) gamers on here don't get why in-game saves are so important. I've said it before, and will say it again, in game saves are vital for keeping the mature hardcore sports gamer to your franchise. Now, sure, we are a growing group and really have never had a influece before . . . but I think that the demographics of the members of this site suggest otherwise. Maybe the OS owners could make some $$$ off marketing surveys or user info., and by doing that influence gaming companies to include in-game saves as a mandatory feature.

While not having in game saves is not enough to deter many of you from picking up ESPN this season, it is definitely going to deter ME from picking it up. I regard in game saves as an absolutely vital feature. It's why I did not purchase NCAA 2004. Why buy a game if I can't play it? So, I *might* get Madden, or I may just save my $$$ and get 2-3 of the stellar hockey games coming out instead.

When will some of these development teams "get it?" I loved the in game save in WSB2k3 - it made be come back to purchasing baseball games. Why is it not in Sega's football game? I was earnestly ready to give them a shot and a purchase for the first time ever this year. Oh well.

I'm disappointed that it will not be present this year either. It is not that big of a deal to me because I just make certain I have a block of uninterrupted time for an hour to play a game. Saving in the middle of the game and coming back later tends to disrupt the flow anyway. If it is there, I will use it on occasion. Since it is not, no biggie.

I just get the impression VC, doesn't no how to implement it properly. Last year it was promised, and it didn't make it, Post release interview it was promised and it didn't make it into the game even though this time around they had a full developement cycle. It may not be as easy as we think. I just think VC, should just use a end of the quarter save as a compromise hell it could be an auto-save feature at the end of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarter the game will auto-save your progress.

I would have to agree, I think most of the younger, single posters don't realize what a nice feature this is. There are somedays, I just am not able to get an hour of uninterrupted time.

In-Game saves plus the ability to import NCAA 2004 draft classes is while again this year I will primarily be using Madden for franchise play, and ESPN for online play.

VC makes a great football game, and it plays like a dream online, but every year they have left something to be desired for the single player.

I'm not sure weather to be flattered or insulted by all these comments about how in game saves not being a feature needed for the younger gamer.

Hell, I'm 28, married, and have 4 kids.

Now, I don't mind if VC puts it in their game. However, I would ask that they not display it on the pause screen for my wife to see.

Good point. They should make it hidden somewhere.
