I like to look at it this way. It is simply 3 peoples opinion on a game. It will in no way affect my decision in what to purchase as I get try em all. I have no idea if EGM is biased, if they get paid under the table, closet maddenfans, hate sega, or simply found the game to be better then ESPN, nor do I care to. I make my own gaming decisions and recommend you do too. If that means renting both then picking one then do it.

Why people put so much faith and or concern in any review, is beyond my comprehension. ESPECIALLY when it is about the SCORES...

The content is the only thing I concern myself with. Scores serve some purpose but can you really tell me the difference between a 8.5 or 8.75 and a 9.0?

Agreed. I look at reviews and see what they have to say, but until I actually read the review,I don't have any idea why they chose to score the games that way. IF the only reason Madden got 9's is because of the owners mode, and the only reason ESPN got 8's and 7's is because of not having dirty uniforms, or something like that, then these reviews don't mean much to me.

i agree, but I can't wait till I get my mag in the mail to see what those newbs have to say(it may be nobody from last year reviewed this years game)...and my faith in egm was gone when i saw deathrow's 4.5 rating.

Am I the only one here wondering how they could possibly have a reviewable copy of the game when it hasn't gone gold yet and isn't out for 6 weeks?

Thats the thing ppl got to realize. Its one person opinion on which football game is the best. To be honest, I would have gave those exact same scores to last years games and I would be hung by stake by millions of Sega fans. But its all just my opinion and my prefrence. If you're gullable enough to purchase games based off some guy you dont know and dont have a clue what games he owns in his library then let me sell you this high quality bag of sand.

apparently the developer mails them the reviewable version with a label on it indicating so...so then wtf is espn being released in sept?

Could be a beta or a 90% build of the game. Who knows. Did they say it was acomplete finsihed copy?

If the scores were reversed, would some of you still feel the same way? Some people only seem to have a problem with reviews that don't agree with what they think. Those are EGM's opinions, just like you have your own opinions. If you give a game a score of 9 and a reviewer scores it a 7, it doesn't mean that you are right and they are wrong. It means that you like that game better than they do. That's it, period, end of story.
