Just got the new PSM with football reviews

The problem with these Madden/2k debates is that neither side can seem to admit when a game that is not their game of choice, does something better. People tend to explain away the positives that the other game brings to the table. If people would give respect to their opponent in the categories that they supercede in, intellectual debates can be achieved without all this incessant sniping.

As far as the PSM review, they gave out the exact same scores to each title last year so I am not at all surprised. It is simply their opinion guys and there is nothing wrong if they like Madden better than 2k.

You should of seen that thread "player movement in ESPN". That was the most intellegent debate I've ever been involved in. You right that most fans of the game dont give respect to the other. But what gets me is when a fan has no legitement argument to back his theorys while debating or even just making a comment.

But as I said before. Sega fans seem to get very defensive if thier game is below Madden in the ratings. As if thier game deserves to be better. But dont get it twisted,I'm not a Maddenite. I will buy both games this year in hopes that I find the one that suits me better. Its just for now, I prefer Madden.

Video game publishers don't pay mags/websites off but there are various factors that go a long way in how a game is perceived. It happens in several other industries and it's no different in the gaming industry. They will praise ESPN Football as a great game but Madden will always get the slight edge due to its history. That's why you'll often see reviews where the reviewer may say he prefers the Sega game and that it does many things better,yet invariably the writer gives Madden the higher score. It's just how things work and it will take several years to break that. Sony was on the path to breaking that until they dropped the ball wih Gameday.

Sega has seen the benefit of this in regards to other games so they can't complain. Like I said,its how things work.

The honest truthis ooh so sweet. Thanx dude great post. I personally want the actual pages scanned & posted as verification. Each person who have stated that they have the mags has not stated what the actual reviewers stated. Step up to the plate with verification if these scores are legit.

Why are yall fightin over a review of unfinished games? Do any of ou have stock in VC or EA? Do any of you work for VC or EA? What does it matter to any of you how the games are rated? How does it you hurt your feelings or give you reason to brag?

This is foolishness. Play the game(s) you like and STFU! and yes... I'll be heeding this advice myself. I've gotten in these types of debates before but I truely see how pointless it is now. Its so tired and worn out.

the reason it was given a pi(45) - rand(49.5) sin3x was because of the presentation.

this is for the xbox version, the ps2 version score was much different
