Yeah, I agree, VC better come with it as far as advertising. It is not too early to start. Thus far, they're doing their usual crappy job of PR. It seems that ESPN has even joined the fray and for some strange reason is not promoting their own game.

These are just teaser ads guys. It's a completely standard practice for creating buzz far in advance of a product launch. It's not the ad campaign.

""Teaser campaign: advertising intended to tease the public by offering only bits of information without revealing either the sponsor of the ad or the product being advertised. The purpose of a teaser ad is to arouse curiosity and generate attention for the campaign that follows. ""

I understand that as I myself pointed this out a long time ago. However, most teasers don't start less than 30 days away from launch, unless you are promoting a probable Blockbuster film and even then you do about a half a month of teasers, then a half a month of full ads.

If this were any other company besides Sega I would say that this is a build-up campaign, but since it IS Sega history tells me that this probably IS their whole campaign.

All we can do is wait, but it does'nt look good from here.

Cable advertising is more cost-effective and targeted than the networks.

Sega has the means to advertise on network TV without a problem. The questions is, will they?

Right now it's August 6th, We are now less than one month away from the in-store release of their most scrutinized title.... Would'nt it be a good idea to have some commercials on Network TV by now?

It absolutely isn't their whole campaign. You'll see.
