Download & transfer rosters via USB stick?

Do I need to use the data transfer kit or can I use a USB stick to download and transfer rosters to my 360? I used modio to associate my profile with the Backbreaker created teams & thAt worked great. Not a big deal if I've got to purchase that cable for $8.00.

USB sticks will not work for transferring the NFL 2k5 files. You need a Sata HDD usb adapter, which is available on the website monoprice.com for a little over $10 including shipping.
