My impressions of the demo

Since my post in the Madden forum got locked (I respectfully disagree with the moderator's decision to do so) I figure I'll post it in here where some may feel it has slightly more relevance.
TOPIC: After playing the ESPN demo with a completely open mind I can honestly say that...

It is not better than Madden. I'll be honest, the presentation takes Madden and holds it down while Jason Elam tries to kick its face 65 yards. The animations are also phenomenal. So whats the problem? Fun factor. It wasn't nearly as much fun as Madden. The gameplay was far too slow and the controls were sluggish. After struggling with ESPN for a few minutes i popped Madden back in and felt so relieved to be able to run more than 1 play every 30 seconds and to be able to control my players. Madden is slightly more arcadey I'll admit, but I find it infinitely more fun. This is just my opinion and like I said, I compared them with an open mind. I am not bashing as there is much I liked about the game (and much I dislike about Madden) but I just wasn't feeling ESPN NFL Football.

Play the final product before making any comparisons. Its not fair to compare a pre-E3 version of one game with a finished product of another.

Fair enough. I guess I am assuming that the demo is fairly representative of what the final product will feel like. But I admit I will give the completed game a rental just to be fair.

And I tried so hard to be civilized. I can't even have an opinion and share it openly and accept comments regarding it without being flamed. Its pretty disgusting if you ask me. Go ahead and tell me Maddens not your favorite game, I'll be happy to hear what you have to think. Good grief.
