The demo is pretty good but I have some issues with it. First of all it definitely plays too slow for my liking. Yeah I know you can up the game speed when the final version comes out but default online will be the default settings. Second of all the playcalling screens are difficult to read because the icons for the players obscure routes. Anothr thing is on deflected balls the DB and WR's at times have no awareness the ball is around them and make no attempt to go after it. Not all the time but sometimes. I also don't like the super human spin moves i've seen the computer do. One time I saw Ahman Green break like 8 tackles using the spin move and take off to the races, pretty arcadey IMO. Another thing that is annoying is that the B button, which is the button on the right on XBOX, does not call the play on the right on the screen but instead goes back a screen (WTF were they thinking with that design I'll never know). This in itself is a minor annoyance but since it's such a basic screwup in design makes me wonder how many other basics Sega will screw up in the rest of the game. However overall it's a pretty good demo I think.

I doubt I will like it as much as Madden because the off field stuff for ESPN's has never been near as good as EA's. For me that is the biggest issue.

Off the field stuff like what? Just curious.

Mainly their menus are just designed so crappy you spend more time looking for what you want than actually just enjoying the games franchise. Their draft last year was great but other than that I hated 2K3's franchise compared to EA's.

Stat bugs, weird player progression, unrealistic trade logic/roster management, weird CPU draft moves, etc.....Gameplay is hot IMO but these issues hopefully are fixed

It would be nice if you could provide details on what exactly was lacking in the franchise other than the menus were crappy.

I liked the vids of the franchise mode I saw at FBG. The menu for the franchise is well layed out and there is quite a bit more depth over last years game.

The only thing I wish you could speed up a tad more is the walk up to the line...I know you can hold down X and get them up there quicker but just a little faster please VC!!!

All of what KLUE said above too but for me a poor interface is a major thing. If I'm spending all my time digging for things I'm not having fun, it's a chore. I also really disliked the way the cpu handled progression as was noted above. I haven't played 2K3s franchise in a good while now to be more specic so I'm sorry if i'm not being detailed enough for you but I believe it's a pretty common complaint about Segas games in general so it's not like i'm just pulling this outta my @ss guys to have a beef.

Heh, I hope it's been enhanced and is fantastic this year but the fact that Sega nor anyone who talks about the game never mentions is somewhat ominous. And now that I've been spoiled by owners mode it'll be even more difficult for me to do without it so thats another thing.. And lest you think i'm just bringing this up in the scope of Madden vs NFL2K3 I am not, I also have the same issues with the greatest hockey game ever made, NHL2K3. The franchise just quite simply sucked.

Well the only stat bug I can recall from 2K3 was that your punter never got the <20 yd thing recorded but then on Madden all the punter's averages are extremely high. Your punter will always be last or near the bottom there

Trade logic seems about the same as Madden IMO. Both games could be exploited in other words.

Player progression was rather weak in 2K3. Not much going up or down. That's true. The problem with Madden though is that my rookies or bench guys that don't get played during the year almost always drop off a few points the next season which is frustrating if your trying to have a team with depth, so I don't know which is worse really.

Right now I'm playing Madden 2004 and the owner's mode just isn'y doing it for me. Every team never sells out. Even the Packers which is un heard of. Adjusting the prices of things don't seem to have a direct effect or there's little comfirmation if I'm doing things right. Personally I gave up on that part and concentrated on running my team and let that part play itself in the back ground. I'm still in the first year so maybe I'm still learning, but so far I'm not all that impressed with it even though I'm a die hard chiser.
