Re: Injured Reserve?

Do the Chargers still have Flutie and Brees?

What about the Niners? Garcia and Mirer right?

Re: Injured Reserve?

The needed number of quarterbacks in espn is four but the
team needs themselves dont make any sense. I dont even go by
them.

Injured Reserve is sort of a separate roster for injured
players who are done for the season. For example, Vick and
Pennington are both injured but their injuries are not
season ending which is why they are still on their team's
respective 53 player roster. Once a player is placed on IR,
that player is finished for the rest of the regular season
and playoffs. Also, when a player is placed on IR, the team
can upgrade a player from the practice squad or sign a free
agent to replace the injured player's spot on the 53 player
roster.

Re: Injured Reserve?

Interesting. I had thought the IR was solely for the regular season...didn't realize it included the playoffs. I had a weird inclination that Donovan McNabb last season was on the IR, but I guess he wasn't...

Re: Injured Reserve?

McNabb wasnt on IR. He was on Philly's 53 player roster.
If a player is placed on IR, he basically has a year off.
