For PS2, you need the HDD and the Network Adapter because the NA connects to the HDD. The HDD wont work without the NA but both can be purchased off ebay fairly cheap. Even new, the HDD is only about $50.
If you have a 360, all you need is the Microsoft transfer cable so you can download rosters and then, transfer them to the 360's HD.
As for graphics, the Xbox version does look better but the controller for PS2 is better.
I just purchased 2K5 for Xbox since I sold my PS2 and have 360. The only thing I cant comment on is how the button configuration is on 360. For 2K3, the RB/RT and LB/LT buttons are somewhat reversed compared to PS2.
Either way, you cant go wrong and can use Finn's editor so its all good.
