Need help with kickoffs and punt returns...

I'm playing a Franchise with the Jets on All-Pro. Doing alright, but the special teams sequences seem all out of whack. I get almost no blocking on punt returns, so as soon as I catch the ball there are three to four people just waiting to drill me. I'm also having no luck sending kickoffs into the endzone, even when the wind is at my back and I've time the kick for maximum power. Meanwhile, both these issues seem to be reversed for the computer. I'm pretty good at containing their punt returns, but it's usually through the efforts of one guy on my coverage team that manages to get downfield as opposed to the three or four that they get. And 4 out of 5 kickoffs that I receive are in the endzone, no matter what.

Anyone else having these experiences? Or am I delusional?

This has become annyoing, defending kick off's and returning punt returns are very hard this year.

I haven't any issues with the kickoffs but the punt returns are something else. Sometimes you can get a return while choosing to block the punt instead of defending it. Most of the kicking team stays back to block but you still have to deal with the 2 streakers on both sides.

This even happens in First Person Mode too.

From what I remember the demo didnt have this problem. You could return punts, or maybe it was just kickoffs, Ill have to check it.

Couldn't you just take control of one of the players at the line and pull him back to block for the punt returner. That would at least spring him from the 1st tackler. (I use this all the time in NCAA 04)

Kick returns seem way to easy to me. I returned 2 for touchdowns in my preseason (one was a 111 yard return).

As for punts I think I just have to pick the right ones to return. When I do, I'm averaging about 11 yards on them.

Yeah, kick returns are fine for me, it's just the punt returns that have been a problem. I'll try to get better at taking control of one of the blockers. Maybe if I can tie up one of the streakers, I can head to that side for some better yardage. Thanks for the tips.

In the beta it was perfect. Punt returns and kick returns were dead on, especially punt returns. I have noticed punt returns are tough in the final build, and I can get to the 30yd line often on kickoff returns. It may be a sliders issue though.
