yeah, that could be it. I did have the Kicking slider maxed out too.

Well if changing the ratings does not work the only thing to do is jump in a take control of the CPU, forcing it to kick. Are we sure that at the start screen, before a franchise game you can't switch the opponents team to manual control...If you could then you could just switch it back to CPU once the game starts and it should stay adjustable.

This whole thing is a shame, but it is a small problem within a fantastic game. We are really only talking about getting the computer to stretch on the times it will attempt a FG by about 5-9 yards.

Since playing on LEgend default the game has kicked FGs when it should.

I have yet to see the Ai punt from inside my 40. I have played maybe a dozen games or so, and i have seen the cpu kick 50 yarders and less. Never has the Ai punted when they can make an easy field goal.

I have also stopped the AI on 4th and long from my 15 or so and the go for thr field goal. So i am not sure what the problem is with you having them punting from inside your 30

This is on all-pro mind you.

It definitely happens. It happened to me last night during overtime, no less. The falcons were on my 30 and had a chance to win the game with a field goal, but they decided to punt instead. I was shocked, because I thought they had the game won (or at least had a definite shot at winning). Anyway, they punted into my endzone, so I got the ball back at the 20. The net result of their stupid decision: a 10 yard punt.

I have seen the AI punt from the 30 (not all the time tho) and I have yet to see the CPU miss a FG attempt.

Doug Chrstie (CPU) missed a field goal against me in the snow...it hit the upright.

What was the distance? BTW, I went into the simulation mode and changed the kicking power rating of a few different kickers and have determined that the computer will try a field goal of only up to 50 yards, and this is with the kicking power set to 99. If the kick is 51 yards then they will punt. I don't really like the idea of raising the ratings on all kickers, but this may be the only solution. Also, its the NFL. They should be able to kick longer than 50 yds.
