If i wanted to double team Owens with a safty or nickle player I know I have to go to the game plan screen and select the def. matchups menu.

Now, from there I go to OWens name and select double...but do I have to specify with who? I would do that but then that person would cover him and not my corner???

How do I get two guys to cover him in almost every play???

Call a defense that has your safeties free. If a safety is free to the side of the receiver you wish to double, he will.

If not, then he won't.

If he's matched up on a different receiver man to man, then obviously he can't cover your opposing receiver.

If the entire defense is zone then nobody is able to double cover, because they're not in man to man.

I definately understand that if he was assigned a zone then he won't double, but when i call a man defense, he'll usually cover an open fullback or something...which annoys me because I wanted him to cover the CB...

I guess I still haven't found a play that has him free.

No...if he is assigned to a deep cover 2, for instance, he CAN double. (something like a dime straight cover 2 man)

Then it shifts to a cover 1 and the other safety plays center field. If it's straight man, he CAN'T double.

oh ok...i think i gotcha...but can you still double using a 4-3 or 3-4 defense???

If your front 9 are in man to man (or a combo m-z), and the safeties are deep support, then you can do it with whatever twirls your beanie.
