This is the first game that I have played where you can use a defensive strategy and have it work because players are gonna do what you tell them to do. Gotta love it!!!

Anyway, what I do is look at the Offense breakdown first. What I mean is how many WRs, TEs etc.

On downs where I am expecting the run I usually use pinch as my defensive line assignment. Then I follow that up by calling a LB/DB coverage that is cover 1 or Cover 0. This ensure that I have someone on the outside to make a play if it goes there.

On passing downs I tend to use the twist as my defensive line assignment be it twist left, twist right or dbl twist. Depending on the yardage needed I will blanket the field with a zone unless I have shutdown corners and with the Panthers I don't. Some times I'll mix in a blitz with that zone or man with shutdown corners and that forces the QB to rush and throw and incomplete pass or and int.

Thanks for the D tips. How do you call cover 1 or cover 0 with your db's?

what i like to do on passing plays is move ur DBs toward the line of scrimmage, that way on man to man coverage your basically bumping and running, which throws off the offensive timing, and lets you DL get more sacks.

X is the number of deep zones that you have. So cover 1 is normally a safety playin the deep middle of the field. Cover 0 has no deep coverage. A lot of blitz come with cover 0 and it is great against the run.
