The CPU doesn't throw deep???
Are you schmidting us?
ESPN's AI will take advantage of it's own strengths and your weaknesses.
IE.. if your run defense stinks, it will run more than pass against you. If they have a great QB and very fast and good WR, etc, and your CB's and FS aren't as good, etc, guess what, it will throw deep more often than if the reverse is true.
No A.I. should throw deep too often, nor should we be able to take advantage of the CPU and toss deep and have this as a staple, go to, guaranteed play... and in this game, it isn't.
How many people actually play more than 3 games before they complain about such things?
Things that I have noticed:
- The A.I. is fairly smart in play calling (aside from some punt vs. FG situations (if it's Kicker doesn't have a high Kicking power rating, it will play it safe and punt) and the occassional two minute drill snafu, (but normally the two minute A.I. is good)) and that in some games, there seems to be games where both teams can either run, or pass and break tackles, better than in other games... regardless of the teams involved, etc. IE, if you only play one game and the running game is too tough to do, or way too easy, play a couple of more games. It will even out. I've had some 48ish to 40 will shoot outs, and some 9 to 6 type of games. The average for me seems to be in the 20s vs. 20s.
So far, this type of game play is making the cumulative franchise stats for my franchise work out very well.
And I am amazed at how well the game play stats, (once you figure out how many minute games to play, and how many minutes to sim).. how acurate and similar they are.
For example, it's difficult to get any yards on punt returns.. but likewise, the sim games punt returns are the very much the same.
Running and Passing and Receiving stats are darn near spot on what I would expect them to be. Number of plays for each team, for my team and all the sim games, are so even that it's scary.
