NFL2k4: Possible Special Teams Flaw

Hey NFL2kers!!

I was playing our favorite game last night and accidentally ran across a major flaw. I say 'major' because my opponent gained about an extra 30 or 40 total yards during the whole game because of it. On the Xbox, when you are on Kick Return coverage, as you are approaching the ball carrier to tackle him, if you push 'X' (Like you are supposed to on defense in order to tackle.) your man JUMPS straight up in the air, instead of attempting a tackle! This always results in the ball carrier blowing right past you laughing his *** off, as you are waiting for gravity to bring you back to Earth!

I tried pushing other buttons to tackle like Black, White, 'Y' and even the triggers. 'B' doesn't work either because it just switches control to a different player on the field. I am guessing that the only way to successfully tackle someone on Special Teams is to power-up and run into the player. Am I missing something, or have you guys discovered this as well?

I haven't seen it either. My tacklers have never jumped in the air on special teams coverage / tackling.

Yep, never seen it. 'B' switches, 'X' tackles. Every time.

Are you using an alternate control configuration? Perhaps by accident?

how are you guys not seeing this? it happens in both the Xbox and PS2 versions! question to those who say they've never seen it - what button do you press to tackle while on special teams?

After ~22 games I have not seen it ... X to tackle.
