Where's the option play????

The Saints have an option play. The Chiefs have a tackle eligible play.

And it is horrible. I've never gotten it even close to working. The immediate post snap animation is a one step drop, then the QB starts right for the middle of the line - like a draw. The option needs to move along the line, not smack into the middle of it. You ca take control, but that first mis-step seems to really mess it up.

I play as the Chiefs in a league, and haven't spent enough time in their playbook yet. But I'd sure love to trot that one out!

I don't know where exactly, but I know that it is the left tackle who is eligible, and its the left-most play in its formation. I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think there are any receivers lined up on the left side either. When you get a chance, just go to practice mode and scan the playbook. I ran it once and got a 5 yard completion to the tackle.

And "eligible" should be in the name of the play so look for that.

The Raiders have a tackle eligible too...if you go to Jumbo I, you'll see Langston Walker lined up as the TE on the left side. He's a 6'8" OT with a gut that looks like he's holding a tractor tire in there. He's manning the outside left spot, and another tackle has the RTE spot. So while it may not be the textbook tackle-eligible play, it still ends up the same. You just have 2 tackles outside (of 2 more tackles) for power running, but PA's work wonders in that formation, obviously.
