So I'm using the 49ers on NFL 2K5 in franchise mode and I enter free agency with 18.00M in cap space and 66 million in team money for spending in the 2005 off-season. Now the problem with that is, when I sign all my players I have roughly between 3-5 million in cap. So you might ask what's the big deal. I tried to trade Kevan Barlow & Julian Peterson for draft picks because of cap space and KB32 wasn't cutting it for me. Instead of removing & freeing up cap space, it decides to deduct more money making less available to spend from!! I also don't ask for anything as far as players go in return. I tried doing it in Retirement Mode, Re-signing Period, and the Free Agency Period. To no luck I can't wait till the NFL Draft or Training Camp or after the Rookie Drama is complete because I have needs that have to be met right away!! Free Agency & the draft. Preferably the draft because I don't have to worry about giving out fat deals to players I don't know that will fit in or come through for me plus the rookies are fresh out of college & I could save a little money as well.

If you have access to FINN's editor, you can increase the salary cap to whatever you want. Releasing/trading players results in a cap penalty. The remaining amount that you save gets added to your cap room in the following off-season. Hope this helps.

Depending on the system, you'll need an Action Replay (xbox) or if you're on 360, you'll need a Transfer Cable and Xport 360 application for PC. There's information on that site.

How is it stupid? It is completely realistic that you can't just sign and cut whoever you want whenever you please. That is exactly how it works in real life.

The editor has a PS2 option for it. You'll need an Action Replay Evo though with the disc so you can transfer the file from your PS2 to your PC and back again.
