espn may make a profit this year
by selling 200,000 copies the first month, they are on the way to decimating last years total of only 400,000. this number is quite good due to the fact that much of the hype has been word of mouth.
there have been some commercials but obviously sega doesnt want to or have the money to spend on advertising. but you don't have to sell millions of copies to make a profit if your overhead is low. sega's overhead seems to be low so far.
for instance, EA has to sell millions of madden to cover the overhead and make a profit. they are advertising everywhere. madden is probably the cash cow that pays for much of easports advertising all other sports titles.
hopefully, they make a profit. hopefully, this will compell them to advertise more next year.
