Have You Ever Heard THIS Bit of Commentary From ESPN NFL Football...?

In the game, the QB throws a ball to a wideout who streaks up the field for a TD. They replay it. On the replay, Peter (color guy) says

Peter: He's got more moves than a book of pick up lines, Dan!

Dan: Oh no, why do I feel you had a book of pick up lines before?

Peter: Well, I did. I'm married now. But I used to have some good ones.

Dan: Oh yeah, like what?

Peter: 'Miss...are you an astronomer, because I must be seeing Heaven'

Dan: Kathy-Ann (Peter's wife--I think I heard Dan state her name like this), I feel sorry for you.

Now, it's not word for word, cause it's the first I've ever heard of it. But I'd say that that's a good paraphrasing, and most of it is word for word. Anyone else hear this before? Just another reason to love the game.

Someone chime in if you think I got some of it wrong.

I MAY have heard that...

And one of the ones that made me laugh when they said it, even though they didn't mean for this to happen. I ran it in for the score, and Dan just yells,

"Touchdown!!! AND..."

...That's it.

Yeah, there are some really repetive lines of commentary. But I've heard enough of a variance to not be annoyed too much.

I think the "over-caffeinated origami artist" line is even more repetitive than that one.

I heard one while playing last night. The computer threw to a receiver and he dropped the pass. The one commentator said that the "wide receiver shouldn't have eaten that fried chicken before the game." I'm not sure what commentator it was, I guess it was the color guy (no pun intended). For a second though I thought that maybe it was Rush Limbaugh.

And this, folks, is a case why Political Correctness can be bad, and most certainly has gone too far.

I have heard that one before, and associating fried chicken with black people is not the first thing that I thought of. Fried chicken is greasy. Period. Plain and simple. Ever eaten at KFC, Churches, or Popeye's? Your hands are slicker than snot after handling those oh-so-good pieces of chicken.

No offense, but I cannot stand PC idiots who yell at this kind of thing being in a game!
