Not really. Awhile back, I think an article said it was the best selling game on Xbox, but not much more has been said.

Also, EGM has a list of the top selling games for September. Madden for PS2 was #1, ESPN for Xbox was #8, and Madden for Xbox was #9.

They already had a uphill battle and changing the name didn't help. I will say they did a great job on ESPN NFL Football and Madden fans are starting to take notice. I think if VC keeps putting out demos it will help convert more and more players every year. IMO ESPN is the better overall game even with the booty roster management.

Re: How has ESPN been selling so far?

Actually i asked a girl at Gamestop and she said that at first it was selling unbelievable./ People were trading their Madden in for ESPN because of the First person view. Then she said the sales fell off and they are trading their ESPN's in for madden again. She said they discovered the FPV wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

Couldn't they have saved themselves all that time and extra money by just renting ESPN first and tying it out? All in all she said that it sold better than last years but still did not outsell Madden. Oh well there's still hope for ESPN 2K5

Everybody already knew that it wasn't going to sell better than madden because madden sells on 6 platforms.

It wouldn't sell better even if they were both PS2 and Xbox only.
