Re: More on why ESPN\'s broken tackles are more realistic than you think ..

Like I've said time and time again, I don't think people have a problem with broken tackles. I think most people are upset with, 12.7 ypc, or simply there is only 1 or 2 guys between the runner and the endzone because the rest of their team is on the ground, which = lack of lateral pursuit. Sure the broken tackles are ok sometimes, albeit there should be some defenders man, when they hit you, you are going down, i.e., Ray Lewis, Lavar Arrington, ect. A.I defenders are not as active as they should be and seem to jog rather than run. That's all.

My problem is like LBz stated 10+ ypc and that stupid *** animation where the defender slides off the legs that you see probably 30+ times a game. I blame that single animation for the running game problems. If it wasn't in the game problem solved.

Yeah, that and, while Dr Z has a point with some of the bad teams on defense, there are some teams out there where you are happy to reach 100 because you will work for everything you get.

I think the problem is in the animations. I have no problem with the CPU RB's breaking tackles, but the way they are presented is aggrevating. Javon Kearse wrapping up Curtis Martin only to be brushed aside like a child is suspect. A juke or stiff-arm would have been much more credible. Or when the RB barely breaks a tackle and in the aftermath is stuggling to keep his balance when he gets broadsided by a LB and somehow manages to break that one too.

Probably the most annoying defiance of the law of physics is when the RB's momentum has been totally stopped, you have 1 or more defenders pushing him backwards and somehow the RB falls 3 or 4 yards forward on the tackle.

Don't get me wrong, I really like this game, but I think that there is room to make the running game more realistic.

Add in the fact that sometimes a player will miss a tackle and another defender will run into the fallen player and also fall to which in turns takes two or more players out with one broken tackle

I Think there should be an investigation on the subject.
