Career ending injuries!

This is something I had no idea that was included in the game. Here I am looking at the scouting report and then looking at who is injured on the Browns's squad. They have a OLB named Dan Marsh, whom is only in his 4 year as a pro, yet has ruptured achillies that will keep him out of the game forever. I'm in season 2008 in my franchise and this is the 1st time I see this situation happen.

Can it happen to one of our players and have you people seen it happen often? Maybe I just didn't notice it bofore.

Yeah, it can happen to your players but not often. Most of the time though retirement announcement. And you really need to fork some $ just to get them back, but on my policy (as a fantsy GM), "don't let the door hit you on your way out". Most of the time veterans above 10 year of service usually decrease there ratings instead of up. They are short term solution.

I probably see 1-2 per year. It hasn't happened to me. Samari Rolle was the biggest name I saw go down with a career-ender. Also, I think older vets who suffer major injuries tend to hang it up at the end of the season.

Same thing happened after the first year of my franchise. Samari Rolle hung it up due to a career ending injury.

i change some of the high round rookies to names i recognize, so i know their worth later in the careers and one of them suffered a career ending injury (concussion) in his rookie year.

Matt Hasselback had a carrer ending injury in like week 2 of the first year of my franchise. I didn't feel to bad for the seahawks though, they still have Dilfer and are like 7-4 in my franchise.
