If ESPNvideogame/VC/Take two, would have made a bigger splash, if they would have annouced on Football Friday, all in the same marketing of "year of the fan ESPN 25" that a number of copies would have codes in them redeemable at espnvideogames for the Superbowl and air/hotel accomedations.

If that would have been in the strategy at $39.99 or $49.99, how many copies do you think they would sell? and how many copies would you buy seeking the prize?

I dont think I would of took the chance on spending 39 on a game and maybe getting a shot to go tot he SB? But if I wasent on board with ESPN and the 20 bucks price drop I would def jump on that. Its the #1 game for preorders now , orhot list whatever..it made a huge wave in just one day. A ton of people stil have no idea.

Thats cool, disavow any knowledge of the 19.99 price and focus on June 11, 2004 Football Friday. VC, releases a press junkett(sp) stating that as an appreciation to our fans this year and in recognition of ESPN 25, we will have 25 PS2 and 25 XBOX copies of the game with a secret code redeemable on espnvidegames.com, do you think this would put a small spike, medium spike, or a large/significant spike in their sales?

i honestly don't thinks so, bb. that might work with choosing a coke over a pepsi b/c you just want a 15 minute refreshment that costs 50 cents, maybe a dollar. when we're talking 40 and 50 bucks and picking a game over your favorite that you've picked up blind and never been disappointed for the last 14 years for a CHANCE to win, i doubt it'd make much difference.

Valid point, one that I didn't consider. However, would you as a non fan buy the game with goal of a great game and the possiblity of going to the superbowl?

Pepsi is offering 1 billion dollars to 1 person, yet I don't drink it. So no, going to the superbowl would not make me buy the game. $20 bucks will, though.
