Great Plan OR Lucky??????

I tend to believe that Vc had this planned from the e3 show to release this game in July, if you look how they set Ea up like sitting ducks this had to be a plan and what a brilliant one if I might say.

1. Set you original release date after madden august 26

Ea is still asleep at the wheel because they think they going to the marketplace first.

2. You drop the price of your game to boost preorders dramatically

Ea cant drop the price because of licensing issues to compete.

3. Move the release date to the August 10, matching ea's release date and monitor ea's response

Ea thinks that on a head to head release date theyll crush Vc (which they would)

4. Wait until three week to go before maddens release and push out your real release date July,20th

Ea cant respond theyre trying but everytime they move the game up it cuts into there advertising have you noticed not much madden hype this yr everytime Vc pushes up there release date it cuts into maddens advertising and therefore limiting the strength of ea which is the hype machine.

I'd say great plan... even though the cat got out of the bag a little early, at least we know how deceptive and creative their plan was. Let's hope it pays off.

Well...I think you have to assume that EA knew SOMETHING was up when the price became $20.00. You can say what you want about the company, but I doubt they are all blind and oblivious to things like what their competition might due in the near future.

Still, good moves by SEGA/VC.

With millions of dollars on the line and hundreds of developers and marketers jobs at stake... it was not luck.

Re: Great Plan OR Lucky??????

yeaa its a great plan dey tired of EA being number one, and they tired of being conserative(however u spell that word) and they pulling all strings.. Similar to a underground coach's gameplan. Nothing to Lose here so they going all out, and they are being very smart with it. This is the year they take the crown.
