QB Spy Hot Call on Defense

Can someone who actually gets this to work post HOW you got it to work. I have tried everything I can think of to make it work, and it just isn't happening.

And for the love of God, don't tell me to just "pull back on the Right Trigger" like the manual says, cause unless I am doing something really bizarre, that isn't working.

My initial impressions of the game so far (for the most part) are excellent. Well done VC.

Any help (and please be as specific as possible if you actually got it to work) would be much appreciated.

For me, I assign Rudd to spy (the A).

I pull the L trigger for the LB Audibles. Rudd shows the A icon. Press the A button while still holding the L trigger. Pull the R trigger once he's selected.

Rudd now spies.

I absolutly love the ease of this feature! It is so nice to call my blits off to doubleteam, with just the push of 2 buttons.

I got the PS2 version, but thanks for the help. After I brought up the linebacker icons, i'd hit the button for QB spy and nothign looked like it changed. I"l hold the button like you said now, and try it. I'm still getting used to the new running. The cuts that they make without you doing it yourself (esp on All pro) is killing me. But boy, if your team has sucky Wideouts (niners...), you're screwed versus the good teams.

Well, considering I play as the Raiders also, this advise should be a piece of cake to follow. Thank you so much for your help. I will try it when I get home.

Q: Spy on the QB? - How will this be done? I heard or read we would be able to spies on QBs or quickly double team players?

A: Spying a QB, will essentially tell your defender (only in zone), to SHADOW the movement of the QB. Once he breaks the pocket, go get him!

That's the biggest part....

If you have a full cover 2, man to man defense, spy won't work. You can't have a guy with a m2m assignment go spy.

You have to be in a zone in the first place, and it leaves you vulnerable, so you have to pick and choose your spots. The combo zones work...just use a LB in a zone as the spy and it works.
