Good luck, this has been tried multiple times and doesn't really work.

And I don't know if you wrote up that letter or not but it was really hard to read (to many words, not much substance) and there are a few misses in the proofreading (duplicate sentence). Just constructive criticism but won't get a whole lot of attention especially since they are only looking for 100 people to sign.

Re: Petition to End EA's Exclusive License Agreement

"No company should have the exclusive rights to any market or product."

The ask in this petition might be a bit broad, like the rhetoric in it. It's a petition, not legislation.

If you wanted to make an effective argument, cite dates patches were released to fix game-breaking issues, cite earnings quotes and reviews backing up claims of poor performance and gameplay.

Of course, if those don't exist, you should probably reevaluate including them if you aren't able to back them up.

Re: Petition to End EA's Exclusive License Agreement

It's weird how we are so sure that if another company makes an NFL game there won't be any bugs or glitches or it won't need to be patched.

On a serious note, citing bugs, glitches, and patches as the main point of ending the exclusive license is pointless. The NFL couldn't care less about that. I would bet money that no one who is directly involved with licensing NFL products cares about bugs and glitches in Madden, or how many patches there are. They've probably never even played the game. The only way the NFL would consider dropping the license is if EA did something that goes against their business practices. And they have a good relationship so it will never happen.

NFL likes exclusivity where they can get it. If they could have their games broadcasted on one network they would. It's just not feasible.

Yeah, I don't think that petition is going to change anyone's mind. To me, the best possible way to go about it is to compare Madden, both in sales and overall quality, to the NBA2K series. But even then that's a long shot.

Re: Petition to End EA's Exclusive License Agreement

Is your petition the same as this http://www.nfl2kpetition.org/ because I don't think it is? I think we should stick with that one since it has the most signatures?

Also, I think it's very important to emphasise that we are not asking to give 2K exclusive NFL rights, since then we'll be right back where we started after a couple of years. No, what we want is to disband ALL "exclusive rights" so we can then have multiple companies working on multiple NFL games like it was before. That's how we keep the competition fresh. If this was the case then sure, I expect 2K would probably be the best at doing it, but we shouldn't overlook the possibilities of giving the chance to other dev houses who made Backbreaker, MLB The Show, etc. The more, the better, right? It definitely is not all about giving the rights to 2K only. If Madden actually had competition again then who knows, even EA might end up being the best!
