Online play vs. NCAA 2005?

How do you guys compare the two? I loved ESPN 2K4 online last year and played it up through may/june of this year. NCAA 2005 is just as good, if not better, than 2K4. I'm thinking about buying ESPN 2K5, but am wondering about the online play as I have heard some complaints. For those of you with both games - how do they compare on the 'net?

I've noticed more games that have some lag or slight lag during my NCAA 2005 outings.
Aside of the minor issues that Sega's having, I've played 5 ranked games in the past 2 days with no problems before, during, or after the games - best part for me - no lag. It feels like it did last year in terms of that.
