I don't know. Does Microsoft still require certification for patches and whatnot? I know that caused a problem last year. According to Sega at the ESPN forum,they say it's due to factors beyond their control..

Note:when I say patch I mean server patch..

Microsoft reportedly only allows patches to correct online portions of the game. They do not want games to become like PC games where everything gets rushed out the door with numerous patches later on to fix mistakes. If the mistake is in the offline code, Microsoft allegedly will not allow a patch to fix it. Makes sense to me because once you open that door everyone will rush the product and ship out lousy patches. Not having patches is one reason I prefer consoles.

In capcom vs snk 2 for xbox, there was a glitch in offline and online play that when you do a super to end the round, the music would stop, but capcom quickly released a patch to fix that for both on and offline modes. BTW, this patch for NFL 2k5 is also going to fix the problem with online trades.
